Our Executive Chef, Clint Margetish

With over 20 years experience, our Executive Chef Clint Margetish is pleased to bring his expertise to the Port Renfrew Hotel. Apprenticing under Chefs Mark Anthony and Angelo Prosperi-Porta, he has learnt the value of using only the freshest ingredients to define his menus.

Clint has worked in nearly every facet of the food industry, from small cafés, such as The Rock Cod and Santiago’s to restaurants like Milestones and Red Robin, to small hotels and resorts like The Gatsby Mansion and Sonora Fishing Resort.

After gaining notoriety in his own café in the old Port Renfrew Hotel, he further pursued his career at the well known Fresh Tracks Café, located in Whitewater Ski and Winter Resort. Fresh Tracks Café is often featured in magazines, such as Powder and Transworld, for its outstanding food. While there, Clint had the pleasure of seeing one of his recipes published in the café’s cookbook.

Taking the knowledge gained, Clint went on to work on a private yacht in Florida and the Caribbean. Onboard for two years, he catered elaborate cocktail and dinner parties. One memorable experience while there was catering for a French television show.

After all of his travels, we are excited to welcome Clint back to Port Renfrew, now as Executive Chef of the new Port Renfrew Hotel. He has found Port Renfrew and the beautiful West Coast to be an ideal culinary environment, where he can utilize the abundance of fresh seafood our unique locale has to offer.
